Meet the Offshore Captains

Captain Judy Helmey

Well, I used to be the youngest captain on this coast, and now well…Fisherman, charter boat captain, storyteller, entertainer, psychic, author, crystal ball reader, meteorologist, speaker, psychiatrist, parking attendant, secretary, and has been
Kicking Fish Tail Since 1956! (1956 equals age of five!)
For over 61 years, I’ve been doing what I love most — creating the perfect fishing and riding boat trips for folks from all walks of life. Whether it’s just two people looking for a quiet day on the water or a group of fifty ready for an unforgettable company adventure, I make sure every trip is special, fun, and full of memories.
I’ve spent a lifetime on these coastal waters, and I still get excited every time the lines hit the water and the stories start to flow.
If you’d like to plan your own adventure, give me a call at 912-897-4921 (office) or 912-429-7671 (Captain Judy’s cell) — and let me give you a “WHAT IF!”

I specialize in targeting red fish, (all sizes from slot size keeper and trophy red fish) spotted sea trout, flounder, sheepshead, black drum, and sharks. My favorite fish depends on the time of the year. Red fish are a fall bite. Spotted sea trout is typically spring with little flurries throughout the summer. Flounder are my favorite fish to target, and they are early summer into early fall.
I also target trophy fish, such as jacks crevalle, tarpon, and big bull reds. With the understanding that it is absolutely trophy hunting and can be unpredictable.
